Curator Bekki Jo Milner created Witch in the winter of 2019, with a goal to provide a free resource for the Witch community, and a platform for witches everywhere to share their voice.
Outside the pages of the magazine, she is a writer and editor of fiction, collector of pre loved books, and dabbles in acting, music and photography. She is currently rehearsing with The Royal Manor Theatre of Portland for a production that will take place in October 2024.
With an interest in witchcraft, Wicca and other pagan practices since the age of 14 (when her science teacher confiscated her copy of Teen Witch), she enjoys learning about all paths and practices, and the comparisons between them. A practitioner of the craft for 25 years, she would describe her flavour of witch as exploratory and based in folklore and nature. Her passions are elevating witch and witch-related voices, encouraging individual paths with no hard rules, and nurturing community.
She has a degree in creative writing, and should probably have a masters in drinking copious amounts of caffeine.
Having recently moved from the landlocked Midlands to the coast of Dorset with her husband and three-legged cat Gypsy, she currently spends her time trying to enjoy walks on the beach when she remembers it’s on her doorstep, exploring her new surroundings and rewatching episodes of Dr Who. That’s when she’s not travelling all over the planet to see singer-songwriter LP, which she recommends as an excellent way to see the world.
Bekki also is a freelance editor for Veneficia Publications.
